No to Bakun Project

It is ridiculous for the government to propose for the use of Bakun electricity to be sold to peninsular Malaysia...

the reasons are because:

1. TNB's current power grid is over supplied by about 30%.... SO it means that much amount of electricity is being wasted as it is not used. Its like a highway full of cars.... SO it will be wasted in heat loses and this is inefficient waste of energy...

2. TNB is reporting a drop in electricity need... plus if u check their balance sheet, they are actually overpaying the IPP for producing electricity that the people do not need... My projection is there will be 5-10 % drop in electricity needs in peninsular as more factories in penang, and KL are shutting down or not operating at its max. My estimation is TNB will be in the red soon...

3. Almost all IPP are using diesel powered plants that produces a lot of carbon... so we are polluting the environment by oversupplying the power grid. Plus Petronas is subsidising these people by selling them them cheaper subsidised fuel..... If u check the subsidy record, much is being used for electricity....

4. since there is no need of extra supply of electricity, why should peninsular be supplied another extra 10Mw of electricity from bakun? plus their gross projection of energy demand increase in peninsular malaysia adding by 15% per annum is really flawed when they sign contract with the IPP.... the actually data shows a bare 10% increase.... this year may be 8%... so there is a lot of waste of public fund...

5. Also I can't understand why the government sign contract with IPP when they have the resources to build and run one.... This include highways.....
there has been a lot loop sided contract with millions going into minster making the final say...

6. If you can see what happen in Bakun, the violation of human rights and sex abuse by the workers on the local native tribes, and how the gov just dump the people outside of their rightful ancestral land without proper compensation and the bad health care and all sort of human rights violations happening there, you should really think are you supporting such acts. Imagine ur kids being raped while going to school... and ur daughters washing their clothes in river was raped by those workers or those who are being forced out of their home have to become prostitude to those workers as they do not know how to find money to feed their family... these people are uneducated.... but it does not give us right to exploit them.... It really just strike to me when saying such as " Educated people commited the most horrendous crimes". Yeah its right... we are educated but we are maniplating these weaker tribes who cannot survive in such modern world...More over, you can look at the blue collar crimes committed by the so called highly educated students geniuses that are being churned out, compared to world top ten richest men who are all non university graduate who actually help people in need...ie. bill and melinda gates foundation, warren buffets pledge of USD 10 billion support for the foundation and others that help people....

7. plus do you know that the so called pipeline that they intend to lay is as long as thailand to singapore.... Its a long long distance... there will be a lot energy loss in the process of sending it to peninsular... there will be alot problem in financing the project as sime darby intend to be contractor but not owner of it.....

My suggestion is for Bakun's energy to be used in sarawak....
1. the energy suppplied can be used in creating a nearby industrial zone in tanjung manis or mukah... set up fractory and make electronic factories....automobile, micro processors, chips, software development, agrotechnology in food processing, and shipping industry....

2. portion of the money collected from bakun must be used to set up a fund to raise the standard of living of the native people... such as education, housing, job placement, health care and others....
